1878 established in Hermesgrün by Gottlob Herman Hüller (<I>b</I> Hermesgrün 1 February 1858; <I>d</I> Schöneck 11 March 1928), descended from Augustin Hüller, documented 1735 as a noted SI maker in Schöneck: trained with `Haueisz' (see C. HAUEIS) and worked with, among others, HECKEL, Biebrich; 1883 moved to Schöneck. 1912 bought the firm of STÜMPEL; 1920 bought the firn of C. KRUSPE, Erfurt; 1924 enlarged factory, now building all WIs including saxophone; 1925 workforce of 100; 1932 built contrabass recorder 1.9m long. See also NÖDL, OTTENSTEINER.
