 Leblanc Keywork

OK, Leblanc experts out there: I just found a Leblanc Classic. Seemingly a nice older horn. I would guess 1960's to 1970's? I am going to call Leblanc and a supplier or 2 tomorrow. BUT, though I would check in with the experts here, first. Quite frankly from my experience, you guys are WAY better! <grin>

The left-hand pinky lever for G#/C# has been snapped in two ... snapped right off. The other half of the key is GONE to parts unknown.

Would this keywork vary greatly from the Symphonie, Dynamique or other models? The keywork looks similar to keywork I see on many Leblanc-made horns.

BTW: What is closest Leblanc match in terms of quality?

I presume you still have all except the 'touchpiece' part. I would cut the touchpiece offf almost any spare C#/G# key and silver-solder it to the rest.
It is matching the rest that could be very difficult.

Thanks, Gordon. That's an option I will certainly pursue, if I can't find a suitable replacement. It _was_ matching "the rest of the key" that has my interest. Obviously certain manufacturers (like Buffet) have gone through enginneering changes to the "left-hand lever ends". best, mw

Mark,
I think you can still get replacement keys for the Classic. I'll look at my LeBlanc parts book tomorrow.
