I found a good deal on this clarinet and wondered
if anyone's ever played this model Leblanc ?
I'm looking at something other than my 1968 R-13
to play , another color on the canvas, as it were.
Any thoughts or experiences ?
Thank you

I expect you are refering to the Dynamique H. I don't play one but have worked on a couple. They seem to be good players typical of the LeBlanc product line.

Dave,
I own a matched pair (serial numbers match) Bb and A Leblanc Dynamique. You will definitely get a "different color on the canvas" with these horns. Mine play very well, and are very well made, beautiful clarinets. They would probably suit a small chamber type setting, as the tone they produce is not as "bright" as my other clarinets. The tone and intonation are EXCELLENT. If you can get a good deal, it might be worth adding to the collection.
Good Luck,
Kevin

In the middle 50s, Leblanc came out with the Dynamique model, later the Dynamic II and the Dynamique H...and yes, they did change the spelling as you see it. These were large bore clarinets that had a very even sound throughout the registers. The H stood for Houvenagel who was the chief accoustician with Leblanc and designed all of these models. Leblanc still has a "descendant" of these models in the Pete Fountain model.

Hi, I was very intrigued by the posts here, as I have owned the Dynamique model for over 20 years now (since junior high school). I have only recently been able to find out anything about it. The repairman where I grew up nor the band director or dealer my parents bought it from, could tell us anything about it. I recently wrote to LeBlanc here in the states to inquire about this one and a Symphonie model that I have. All they could tell me was that they believed both of these clarinets were manufactured between 1920 and 1946, they were professional models, and at the time were probably imported by Bundy. This was before Leblanc started producing instruments in the US.
I am curious to know if anyone knows anything about the Symphonie model. Also, I have to find a register key for this instrument. Somewhere along the way, someone put a cheap register key on this instrument that does not match at all. Everything else seems to be intact. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about finding one of these. I checked with Leblanc, but they do not sell directly to the public.
Thanks, Lee
