What is the standard range for the register key opening on a Bb clarinet?

I set the speaker key venting somewhere between 2mm minimum to 2.5mm maximum depending on the diameter of the speaker tube.

The shape of the cork pad can make difference (if using a cork pad).
I see Selmer has the pad edge beveled, do not see that on Buffets.

Same with Yamaha in they use cork speaker key pads that aren't bevelled.
I always use cork speaker key pads and bevel them as standard on all soprano clarinets and sometimes fit a Hasty pad spike made from a stainless steel oboe point screw with the head lopped off, screwed into a hole cut into the centre of it. I usually fit them on A clarinets and large bore clarinets.
The jury's out whether or not it makes a difference as most players whose clarinets I've fitted them to haven't noticed any difference in how they play, but usually contact me out of alarm as they think something's got stuck in the pad when they've just noticed it.
