Loose metal name plate /model badge

I need to re-attach a name plate to a Tosca. It just fell off.
Should I use superglue or contact cement? I believe both will do the job, is one better than other for this specific task?
Also, does anyone know what adhesive Buffet uses for these plates?
I understand the mating surfaces need to be cleaned well.
Thanks

I usually superglue them back in and fill any gaps around them with more superglue, black tinted superglue or hard black wax. You can always use black tinted epoxy if you want to wait an entire lifetime for it to fully harden (and 30+ minutes is an entire lifetime to some lifeforms).

It definitely helps to soft solder a short brass sprue or a short nickel silver wood screw to the back of the badge and drill a corresponding blind hole in the recess for the badge so they stay put better once glued in, just as Buffet have done on the cast oval badges they've used on clarinets since the late '90s.

They can still drop out, so it helps a lot to nick or nip the sides of the sprue with wire cutters to roughen it up. Earlier stamped silver plated brass Prestige badges from the '80s were completely smooth on the back and could drop off and get lost without any warning.

If you've lost any of the red lettering in the Tosca badge, use car touch up paint to redo it. You could also use red permanent marker.
