I saw this recent fundraiser for NYC clarinetist Dan Levinson who has faced significant health issues from an earlier bout with cancer. It is a good cause. I can't imagine dealing with this

Dan's a great guy. He and his wife, Molly, have done a lot to help keep old-time jazz alive.
I first heard Dan play with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks back in 2008 at Sophie's on 46th in NYC. I'd meet him for the first time a few years later, and have enjoyed an acquaintanceship with him since that time.
He's a hard worker and very dedicated to music. He's a top-notch player and bridged a gap in time between the older generation of old-time jazz players, and the newer groups that showed up in the early 2000s.
