 Your desert island clarinet disc

What is your desert island clarinet disc? Mine: the Brahms Clarinet Quintet played by Karl Leister and the Amadeus Quartet. Leister recorded this masterpiece several times, but there was only one Amadeus String Quartet. The same work played by Yona Ettlinger and the Tel Aviv Quartet would come a close second for me.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I like Leister's playing in the orchestra but hate his solo and chamber stuff. I never hear him singing through his playing, which is like nails on the chalkboard to me. There are so many static notes and non-legato connections: indeed, these things happen so frequently he must be doing it on purpose; to me, though, it sounds horrible. But I'm always up for being persuaded otherwise.

I can't pick one, but here are a few (in no particular order):

1. Sabine Meyer's Stamitz concertos
2. Charles Neidich's Rossini Intro, Theme, and Variations and Weber concertos (the Rossini, though, in particular)
3. Yona Ettlinger's Brahms and Mozart quintets
4. Harold Wright's Strauss concertino
5. Stanley Drucker's Nielsen concerto
6. Richard Stoltzman and Richard Goode's Brahms sonatas (alternately, Jorg Widmann and Andras Schiff's Brahms sonatas)
7. Robert Marcellus's Schubert Octet

brycon: Leister got quirky with age. The recording with the Amadeus Quartet took place early in his career.
