Occasionally I see for sale on eBay Selmer 10S II clarinets that have a small 5-pointed star symbol above the logo on the top joint. These are always located in Japan, but not all of the 10S II models that are sold out of Japan have this symbol. Do any of you know the significance of this and how this model differs from the more common 10S II without the star?
In case you would like to see what this looks like, there is one on offer now.

The star above the Selmer 10S II logo is generally understood to mark a factory‑replaced joint, not a special edition or Japan‑only model. These clarinets play and function the same as standard 10S II instruments, with the star simply indicating that Selmer swapped in a replacement part at some point.

The * above the serial number indicates a top joint transplant (** for its second), but not a 5 pointed star on the front above or below the logo as that's far too conspicuous.
