In bars 19 - 23 of Introduction and Allegro, there are written 32nds that alternate between throat G# and the D above it, and throat A and the D# above that. It's atmospheric filler and when I listen to recordings I can't hear the clarinet there, though it's marked forte and in the middle of an accelerando. I can't play those notes that fast and sound appropriate, so I'm planing on playing them slower and really soft, but I was wondering if anyone's heard of any kind of tradition of editing the passage, or somehow playing a real tremolo with those notes. Thanks!

"Introduction and Allegro" by whom? If we know what piece of music you are talking about we can probably help you. Do you mean the chamber work by Ravel? (I don't recall any tremolos in that piece, but I might be wrong).

Oh you do mean the Ravel- 7 before fig 2. Just play the notes as written, really fast. Leave your right hand down for the G# and A (START the bar with those fingers down).
If you need this explained (this is standard technique that you can use in many places throughout this piece), you might find this piece quite difficult. It's pretty super beautiful music though, so it's worth the effort!!!!! (hope you've got a nice A clarinet)
