If there's no makers name on them, I'd pass. You can't tell from the pictures whether they're good or not. Nor can you tell if they are close tip, open tip, long lay, short lay, etc.
Some people did like the Woodwind brand mouthpieces. I don't see any point in getting a set of 12 though. The Selmer Goldentones were also well liked in their day.

Kalmen Opperman, who knows nearly everything about mouthpieces, has told me that the legend "Qualite Superieure" in capital letters running up the right side of the table appeared on Chedeville's best blanks, so the two mouthpieces with that on them, #1456303076 and #1456310271, are definitely worth bidding on. #1456310271 looks to be in better condition than #1456303076, but you really can't tell from photos.
I recently asked Kal what people played on before Chedeville and the Kaspers were around, and he said that most played on Woodwind. Thus the set of Woodwind mouthpieces, #1456314015, is also worth bidding on. This looks like a demo set, one of each model, and may have some value just for that reason. Also, they look to be in nice condition.
With old mouthpieces, it's always a crap-shoot whether they're too beat up to be playable, and the Woodwind set may be too new to be the great ones. I remember seeing a set like that in the late 1950s.

Sylvain, there are a couple there worth looking at. PROBLEM: Poor photos & some of the tip rails look thin. With shadows and all I can't see wear or what might be little chinks in the "armor: here or there.
IMO, these came out of somebody's "BARREL" & it just isn't the most appetizing things I've seen for what could be a bidding war for a piece or two.
Woodwind G8's & the like are not too hard to come by, but some of them that were done on real Ched blanks are harder to find. They are evidenced by the one white line up & 3 white lines down. The B's & C's are interesing, too (not shown here, but my statement is just made in passing).
The D. Bonade, Qualite' Superieure, Lelandais, & Chedeville (Henri or Charles) are constantly being sought by everybody. I have found that unless you get REALLY lucky, you are better off buying one of these coveted mouthpieces from someone who KNOWS what they have & will allow returns, in a non-auction atmosphere.
Of course, there ain't no sin in taking a flyer (gambling) with a few bucks here or there on the chance that you might "land" something in these auction (lotteries).

I'm bidding on one of these, but my only concern is that the seller keeps them straight. I think the one I'm bidding on is probably in the best shape, but some of them look pretty rough. If I end up the winner--I just hope there is no confusion when shipping.
Yeah--like I need more mouthpieces

I just refaced three Woodwind mouthpieces (two B7s and a B6*) and while they're probably not Chedeville blanks, they all turned out to be excellent mouthpieces without needing any interior modifications whatsoever.

Agree. You don't say whetrher these old one's were marked "Steel Ebonite".
I have two B# Models that are Ched Blanks & are EXCEPTIONAL players. On the other hand, it's hard (IMO) to find a BAD Woodwind Steel EB mouthpiece.
Caveat: Those reading should understand that most of these ared so old to (more than probably) be warped so that refacing _IS_ a requirement ! So if you get one, check out are many able refacer's in the Clarinet World (don't forget to ask questions & get an estimate of cost for the work).

David, I thought they might be Steel EB's. Unfortunately, few people give these mouthpieces the accolades they (really) deserve. My thanks to Don Berger for calling these to our attention awhile back. It's these recommendations from our Pro's on the Board that benefit us all so much! mw
