A friend of mine gifted my department an RM F. Malerne "Standard" A clarinet, serial number B10XXX. I did some cursory research and found that these were stencil instruments. The "Standard" model was designated as their student line.
I was pretty impressed at the feel and resonance of the instrument. I'm assuming this is a copy of an R-13 based on the key design and feel. It plays like several vintage A clarinets that I've had the chance to play in the past. Throat B-flat is smooth and resonant, definitely a nice find.
Is there any more information out there that I am missing?

Malernes stamped/engraved 'Malerne' aren't stencil instruments - Malerne are the ones that stencilled instruments. Malerne was acquired by Marigaux in the early '70s.
I had a Selmer Sterling A clarinet from the '50s (paired with a Selmer CT Bb) which definitely stood up to many pro level A clarinets and even put others to shame.

Good to know, I'm so glad you wrote! It feels on par with my 2 Prestige A clarinets. Tuning is a bit high in the usual places but for student use, it will be fine.
