Hi! Right now I own a Vandoren M13 mouthpiece, and I also have an O'Brien crystal one, which I prefer over the M13. I was curious if there is a large difference in sound, etc. between the M13 and say a B45 or some other highly-acclaimed mouthpiece...? thanks!

Vandoren mouthpieces are very popular. I would not refer to them as "HIGHLY ACCLAIMED". They are machine-made & quality varies from mouthpiece to mouthpiece. Sound is a very individual thing. Best, mw

The M13 and M13 lyre have a deeper tone, darker quality.

M13 is more narrow than B45, which is an open mouthpiece. You need stronger reeds for the B13. As to sound, well actually the player may matter more.
