Hi
My woodwind quartet have been programmed to play Il Quattro Virtuosi by Leonardo de Lorenzo - 1st rehearsal tomorrow.
It would seem to me that, judging by the clarinet part and from what the flautist has told me, the whole piece is rather like a procession of exercises from the Klosé tutor without much melodic content. I'm getting cold feet about including it in the concert.
Has anyone else performed the piece, and is there a recording (nothing on YouTube as far as I can see)?
Many Thanks,
Phil
