I have noticed that this website has been loading much faster the last few days, than in the past. Whatever the reason, good job.

A little off topic, but if anyone needs to search a certain topic, thread, or specific post, the search feature here is abysmal. Use Google. I tried multiple times with different search words to find a post I made last year. After a half hour I gave up. I tried Google, it took less than 10 seconds and the thread I was looking for was the first hit.

LJBraaten,
Interesting...I just tried to find my thread concerning the embouchure brace I created. First, I used the BB search engine and inputted "embouchure brace". I clicked Enter and only one thread showed up and it wasn't mine. (I believe I've mentioned my embouchure brace at least 4 or 5 times in various threads.)
Next, I used my personal search engine, Startpage, and inputted...clarinet "embouchure brace". Startpage found my thread and it was at the very top.
I like using the BB search engine but, I must admit, it can, at times, be rather frustrating.
I believe almost all of the inserted BB threads in my postings come from my personal search engine.
I'm not sure how to resolve this problem...
p.s. I apologize for this OT response.

Actually - perhaps someone else can tell me if they're experiencing the same thing, but...for the last several months I've noticed that my searches only produce matches older than 1/1/2024 (at least when I arrange searches from newest to oldest).

Im pretty sure the feed to my ancient indexer is broken. The index was built before google was actually a thing (the indexer was in place before the Google ipo). I'll probably rip my indexer out.

I didn't notice that, but about half the times I come here I get a sort of "dead" page. It is still the clarinet board page, not an error page, but there are no posts, as if the list is there but empty. Is there a daily update or something that causes that? I usually come here at the same time in the morning for a few minutes and it's only back if I try again later that day.

Empty pages with no posts...I've had that for more than a few months. I kept blaming my computer. I did restarts, removed and reinstalled my Avast Anti-tracking software... I finally realized that if I went to a few other websites and then came back, most of the time the BB was then normal, but, sometimes hours had to pass by.
I thought I was the only one experiencing this.

As far as the "no posts" - I've noticed that since the database update/upgrade or whatever it was.
For me, it's the same time every night. 9PM-10PM Mountain Time outside of daylights savings time, and 10pm-11pm Mountain Time during daylight saving time.
Other than that one hour, it works every time for me.

I guess that is it, I usually check the board sometimes between the equivalent of 23:00 and midnight ET.

Yup. I am in permanent CST since down here in Mexico we got rid of Daylight Time.
I had some bozo daily attacking the database so I reserve a block of time to do a deep backup of the database yo a location far away. I keep the system alive but often the web services will come out waiting for the db. I could someday turn on replication ... but I haven't. I am shortly going to turn off the damn google ads and just link to a "beg" page i have for the fingering guide that goes to PayPal. I just turned off my credit card processing because the fees are greater than the return.
It's "El dia de la Indepencia" here in Mexico, kinda our 4th of July. Good celebrations to all!
