Justin,
I've never heard of the brand. Perhaps it is a good clarinet. You will have to be the judge. I suggest you stick with the big four: Yamaha, LeBlanc, Selmer and Buffet. There are a lot of clarinets that were (are) stenciled and it is hard to say. I would not buy one made in China. Check and see where it was made. Italy ?
Just because it is wood doesn't make it a good clarinet.

if you want a tide-me-over i would suggest you rent one for a couple of months rather then buying one. If you buy a bad one you may not be able to sell it.

I wouldn't give anywhere near $250 for the Avanti. There are better deals on Yamahas at pawn shops for $125.

Is it made by Studebaker? All seriousness aside, I've never heard of it. Perhaps it's yet another generic Chinese-made clarinet?

It may be worth the money if it has Tailfins, a push-button tranny or a Corinthian Leather carry-case.
Jeezit, the junk that is out there to tempt kids with small budgets!
(New does not always = better)
Could you imagine selling one of these donuts a decent Humphries for $300?
- "Notta chance, never heard of it."
Plunk 'em down in front of a shiny-new POS for $250 and there ecstatic!
- "But it's new, and the salesman SAID it was a good one?!"
Help me now! Gotta habbit NOW!
Where are these kids when I'm selling day-old newspapers?
urk
