Nothing really interesting about a Moennig Bros. mouthpiece. This firm apparently sold a fair number of clarinets from student grade on up, in the U.S. during the 20's and 30's (maybe a bit earlier and later also, I'm not sure). I have a metal Moennig Bros. clarinet which I play in a big band -- it's a pretty decent instrument. But I suspect the mouthpieces that came with their clarinets are probably nothing special.

OK!!!! So stab me to death with used reeds. Just thought someone might find this mp interesting due to the Moenning legacy regarding clarinet work. Good Clarineting, anyhow!!!!!!

Different Moennig (possibly same family, though). No need to be defensive, we don't shoot the messenger here, we just have a bit of fun with him ---- Happy clarinetting, too!

Sure would be better to see the table and lay, than the beak! I have an M 's oboe, simple [military] no great shucks! Likely Hans of "our" generation was the best acoustition [sp?] repairer! Don

Don, it's amazing the tooth marks one sees on mouthpieces these days. No doubt that years ago mouthpieces were MORE personal to Clarinettists. Now people want to use those older vintage mouthpieces & the BEAK tends to be a focus! mw
