I'm in the process of restoring a Lefleur and son Albert system clarinet which I think has a tuneable mouthpiece to barrel fitting and I wondered if anyone had come across these before?
My thoughts are that the metal part is threaded into the probably bakerlite part but at the moment this is absolutely solid. I'll probably give it a good soak in my ultrasonic cleaner and see if I can free it up but I don't want to force anything.
So I just wanted to check if anyone knew if my theory is correct pleasse?
I know there won't be many people who play with 1880s clarinet bits but thought there might be someone
Cheers
Richard

Well in case anyone was interested I ws correct in my thoughts about the mechanism and with several hours of gently pushing and cleaning and oiling I eventually got it apart and it has now been thoroughly cleaned and lubricated and is back in working condition

Thanks for sharing this - it is really cool.
I would have chimed in earlier, but I've never seen anything like it - so had nothing to offer. You're thinking it comes from the 1880s?
