I use a silver/stainless steel VD Optimum ligatures on my reed instruments. They work well for me. Yesterday, the one that I use on my Bb/A mouthpiece broke. To be specific: the "pressure plate" (the one with the ribs running from the heel to the shoulder of the reed on both sides) has become detached/un-welded from the clip(?) that fastens onto the screw.
I've tried the other two plates but the above-listed one is the one that works best for me with the V12 reeds that I use.
Will VD send me another plate?
I have searched and VD doesn't seem to have a "customer service/support" contact...or at least I could not find it.
Any thoughts?

No, Vandoren won't just send you replacement pressure plates.
You can buy replacement pressure plates though.

A jeweler (or a competent repair tech) SHOULD be able to soldier that back together in about 3 minutes.

Yes on the soldering but you need a jeweler who is competent with silver soldering. Not all do this.

Any qualified jeweler CAN do this, those that can't probably fit the description of "sales assistant" etc Of course, anyone can CALL THEMSELVES a jeweler.

ProWinds show the replacement plates in stock- they do not say what finish.
I'd try a jeweler 1st. Or just good old epoxy glue.

Follow up (GOOD news!)
Last Sunday (6 days ago) I sent an email to Van Doren in France.
A day later I received an email from: Sylvain Carton "Vandoren Artist Relations and Product Specialist" He asked for a picture of the defective part (which I sent) plus my address.
In today's mail: a new face plate (at no charge)!!!
Thank you Van Doren for backing-up your product!
