Hi all, just wondering.

If you could score a really pristine Selmer Series 9, a Selmer Centered Tone or a Selmer Balanced Tone, which one would you choose. Love to know why if you can spare the time.

All depends on what you want to do. Can't speak for the 9 series, but having tried a number of CTs and BTs, for what I do and like, I'm a big BT fan. For an example, Samantha Wright plays a jazz/swing repertoire on BT and sounds great. The intro here allows you to hear just the clarinet :

i have a bt and it more jazz orientated for sure. for concert -go with the series 9
