 Selmer alto - age?

As well as my B&H emperor, the local music after-school provision has lent my son a Selmer alto which he's enjoying for a bit of variety.

I can't tally up the SN with the Selmer pages though, they don't seem to distinguish between different sizes of clarinet.

If it fits into the main SN table, at 28XXX that would put it as a 1939 model, which doesn't feel right though of course could be spot on.

Image attached if that helps?

It's a Selmer USA or Bundy alto (also stencilled Buescher Aristocrat and B&H "78" among many other names), so only Selmer USA serial numbers will be relevant as opposed to Selmer Paris who only made pro level clarinets (until they offered intermediate level ones in 1990s).

Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London
1998 - 2010

The opinions I express are my own.
