Hello all,
I recently came across a Buffet model DG.
Rather unusual... Is it perhaps Buffet's most hidden clarinet?

For some reason, it didn't take off and was rapidly discontinued. -a bit like the Buffet Elite.

The DG was fairly short-lived, yes. I have a pair from the late 1990s and they were priced and marketed at the same level as the R13 Presige and RC Prestige.
This interview with Daniel Gautier (the DG of the name) among others has some interesting information (it's in French but you can put it through Google Translate or similar):

From this information it seems that the DG is a modified RC.

The DG was Buffet's most Selmer-like clarinet. The ring keys are concave, so setting them to their correct heights relative to the tops of the tonehole chimneys is important.
I've done crack repairs on two of them and fully overhauled and regularly service a couple of them. The last one had the DG badge missing, so that's not something you're ever likely to find a replacement for and a regular Prestige barrel will set you back a ridiculous price of around £50. That's right - around £50 just for the badge when a replacement thumbrest is less costly and more complex.
The barrel bore is often chambered halfway down, so don't be alarmed if you see a wide line running all the way around the bore when looking inside the barrel.

Yes I've definitely found this. My fingertips are moderately small so the rings have to be just right.

I wonder if they were more popular in the UK than elsewhere? I've seen a few others in the UK but don't hear about them as much from other countries.

I've heard about this but never seen it in real life. Is this for the Bb or they A or both Chris? I wonder if mine are slightly earlier version (388xxx and 410xxx).
