Help! When I first got a private instructor they had me "tighten" my embouchure to help get high notes & it was going fine until somewhere along the way I started biting! Now it not only kills my lip, but it also makes my tone fuzzy and squeaky--I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for helping me unlearn how to bite.
TIA

Try thinking of squeezing the corners of your mouth and supporting more with the corners and lips more than with the teeth. If you have to, try playing just for a minute with a double lip embouchure, NOT permanently, but just to see how it feels not supporting with your teeth. A small amount of tooth support is good, but you want to think more with supporting with your lips. Good luck!

You might want to check out this post which is just a little down the page. Biting is discussed among other things.
