It may be a BIGGER deal that Mike Lowenstern is now a Backun rep. He will be (or already is) carrying the inexpensive synthetic body low C bass!

First the Global Max.... now the Backun Alpha .
It's great to see this push for offering quality at prices that are more accessible to people.
I often wonder how much greater our Arts heritage would be, and what its standing in our civilization, had not so many potentially great artists been prevented from developing their gifts to us due to one obstacle, or another. Instrument price issues have no doubt been the problem in untold cases. If the aspiring farmer has no arable land, that's produce lost to all... and no doubt quite a few winning pumpkins..... One can only imagine.
