Hi can anyone please help , I have been offered a vintage Selmer Alto Clarinet ( rosewood) but is missing the neck .
Without breaking the bank is it possible to purchase a replacement .

Alto or ContraAlto?
I know they make Contras in Rosewood.
In any event, try ebay, I see several listed.

Worth checking with Gloger too.
It's likely (though can't say for sure) that a current Selmer alto neck wouldn't work that well, and that it's not possible to get an older one from Selmer.

There are brass instruments repair people that could likely make the missing part . You would no doubt have to call around a good bit and then send them the existing upper part. There are techs out there that have remarkable ingenuity with these things and a stockpile potentially suitable material.
