Hi Everyone,
I've come across an Evette & Schaeffer Master Model with a serial number starting with KXXXXX. I've looked into other posts on this forum and found a great post with serial numbers and dates. This one I have is dated around 1958/59.
The one question I have has to do with a rather elusive marking on the lower joint of the number 27. I only found it when I took the keys off to clean the wood body. You could not see it easily with keys assembled. While I was polishing one of the left hand levers, I saw "XXVII" engraved into the metal.
Does anyone know what the significance of this number might be?
Thanks!

It's guessing it's some coding for the manufacturer's to trace the instrument to a given stock of Blackwood or something. Basically some internal manufacturing control.
