“ About a year ago, I also tried the E13 and the 650 side by side. I went for the Yamaha, because it’s quite free blowing and has a bright, cheery sound that I like. I also like the build quality.
However, I went shopping for a professional clarinet recently, and tried some Buffets, one Yamaha and some Selmer. It appears my taste has changed, and today I might prefer the Buffet over the Yamaha because of a mellower sound.
What I’m trying to say is: you can’t predict what you will like more without trying them side by side. Nobody can tell you what you will prefer. So if you have an opportunity to try them both, do that. Any other advice comes down to preference of the advisor, and that may or may not be the same as yours.”
Thanks, I’m not quite looking for a professional one at the moment or at least not new as that will be out of my budget.
I agree that will need to try them to be sure, but I had the same feeling about the Yamaha at the moment (being the one I like a little bit more), will try to get my hands on some of them
