 Subforums

Hi

I think it would be beneficial for this forum to implement some subforums under each section.
I recently found woodwindforum.com and their sub-forums are excellently applied. Too bad though, almost no content in them.

Under "Clarinet" there are separate subforums for Ligatures, Mouthpieces and Reeds for instance.

What do you think? Is it too much work to implement that?

I rather like the randomnessand eclecticism of topics as they come up - avoids having to seach many subforums.

I like it too. I think the regulars might be spread a bit thin if the threads were separated into different forums.

Saxontheweb.net has a huge number of carefully delineated subforums, which do make it considerably easier to find information on a specific topic, especially when just browsing. However, that is a pretty high-traffic forum compared to this one. I get the feeling that the posts-per-day rate here would not be sufficient to sustain a useful number of subforums.

Doesn't work. I'd spend all my (little) time policing the subforums, and their value would become less than 0.

I kind of agree with Chris. The Scuba forum I belong to did divide things up a lot into sub forums. Sometimes there is something in one of them that I was interested in but missed because I didn't bother to check them all. Here, there aren't that many new threads every day, so I'd rather it stay as it is.
