Can someone please give me some information about my clarinet, manufactured by Thibouville Freres? I am a new adult player. It also says "brevete".

Hi P C - You probably have quite a good clarinet, I bought one via EBAY, checked it out w: minor repairs, played well for me, sold it to a teacher friend for a student, she liked it so well its a backup for her Buffet etc. Seems to be a "thick-wall" and is resonant , like the Selmer Recital? Freres means brothers and Brevette means brief [in legalese for patent] , ah French! Rendall lists Andre Thibouville 1886 Paris, successor to Bie', Thib- Cabart 1869 Paris and Ezy, and Thib-Lamy, Jerome, Paris and London 1867-?. One group of somewhat-lesser-known Fr mfgr's. Mark can prob give you more info. Don

I also have a Jerome Thibouville Clarinet left to me by my Grandfather. It is marked 1872. Also says Brevete. It is in very good condition. I'm trying to gather some information about it so I may contact a collector. Does anyone know what it might be valued at? Or a site that could direct me to answer some of my questions?
