Help me choose my first clarinet
Author: Zakparamir

Hello guys, I want to purchase a clarinet for the first time, in my country, Iran, it's very hard to find decent ones, brand new ones are Chinese clarinets. Student models like Yamaha YCL250/255 are very expensive here around 1000$.
My father's friend is a professional clarinettist, He offered me to sell some second hand clarinets that are overhauled by him and are in a very good shape.

These are the ones that fit my budget:
1.Selmer Bundy (idk the exact model) 300$
2.Yamaha C100(It's YCL-20 or 25 in other regions) 360$
3.Buffet b12 440$
4.Jupiter Starter student clarinet 360$

He recommended the Selmer
And he said that some of them are very old but they are in a very good shape
But I wanted to ask you guys
Thank you

I'd agree with your friend regarding the Bundy as the best choice of that list.

Thank you, but I don't know what specific model is that bundy, and it was the least clean of them all xd.
Are all bundy models better?
And it's the cheapest
Is the quality better compared to other 3?
Sound, build and etc, what about resellabilty

Hi Zakparamir,

Sorry to ask a really dim question, but does that mean that you can't just buy things online there and have them posted internationally? I had no idea that that was not possible in some places.

The Bundy is a model of plastic clarinet. I’m not familiar enough with that particular Yamaha to be certain about it but absolutely do NOT buy a B12!!!! Awful awful awful.

Hi Jennifer
Iran is heavily sanctioned, It's North Korea 0.5 (joking lol, but it's somewhat isolated) I can import international products but only through unofficial delivery companies and they charge ridiculous prices, 1kg is like 30£ If I want to import from UK (which is normal I think)
What would be your suggestion in the 250-350$ range If I want to find something online?
