 Pruefer Full Boehm A Clarinet
Author: DarkHairedIrish

Hi everyone, recently acquired an old Pruefer "A" clarinet. It is stamped "G. Pruefer / - M.F.R. - / Prov. R.I." It was actually given to me for parts but it seems a little interesting to scrap without research. It is a one piece body, full boehm clarinet with a wrap around register key and serial number of 3XX. Came with a matching barrel, no bell, and no case. All parts are present and there are no cracks. I would guess it has silver keys as the keys/posts are dull and haven't turned green. Can anyone tell me anything about this clarinet and whether it is worth saving? Any insight is appreciated. Thank-you!

Based on your description of its construction (one piece body, wraparound register key), it is probably from the very early 20th century, like the 1900s to the 1920s. I would keep it as a curiosity, owing to it possibly being that old and also being an A clarinet in full boehm system. idk about the bell, but it might be possible to have a new bell 3D printed.
