I was wondering... does Vandoren actually still produce there reeds in France or is it just a sales pitch?
I am asking as Aliexpres selles original vandoren reeds for not much price difference and there VK1 is supposed to beproduced in france but is only sold in the US.
To me this feels like the moved everything to china.
any thoughts?
Kind greats

First off (and reading ahead) the VK1 is a synthetic reed product that is, according to a big US Vandoren retailer I spoke with, not due to be saleable to the public until around July.
As for Vandoren's other (natural) reed products, they are still, at least grown in the South of France, in the Var region, where there exists unique qualities for growing cane good for instruments, including the soil composition and breezes which strengthen the fiber.
I don't think Vandoren ships their cane to other parts of the world to be cut into reeds but I am not certain.
While I can't speak to whether Vandoren has released their VK1 product outside the States, I'd be wary of buying outside of dealers for fear of fake product.

Don't worry I wasn't planning too, specifically as the price isn't much difference at all. so easier th get it locally some where around a rouner or two.. or more.. wow.. i am getting dissy.
Do take in account that is a chinese seller advertises with "genuine 'brand name'", and there is the slightest proof of it not being actually of that genuine brand. Aliexpress is VERY quick to refund the order, usually without the need to ship anything back. I have multiple experiences with It.
Do be aware of advertisements with "Genuine, without the brand name". They will be always fake, without a doubt.
Just my expereiences with Aliexpress here.
Kind regards.
