I have had a number of Yamaha 4C mouthpieces All OK. I have suddenly noticed than one of them is labelled 5C. What is the difference ? It play just the same.

Last time I looked at one, the 5C had a tip opening of 1.09mm and the 4C was about 1.04 or 1.05mm
A couple of my students play on 5C's where I have kept the same tip opening but refaced it with a longer facing to create something similar to the D'darrio Evolution mouthpiece, or a 5RV Lyre with a longer facing. It works well for them. Results may vary.
