ANY Tips I Should Know to Sound Better With an Eb Clarinet?

I just need some tips for the instrument since I got it last week for an orchestra.I just need any advice on how to have a stable, in tune sound for a pit orchestra.

Find a comfortable reed and practice. You have to get your fingers acclimated to the closer tone hole and key positions. And you have to get your oral setup accustomed to the different shape that's needed to focus the tone on the pitch with maximal resonance. Unless the part demands exposed altissimo playing, I wouldn't stress over that until you're comfortable with the chalumeau and clarion registers. If notes higher than Eb6 are included and are important, I'd concentrate on trying to find easy-to-produce fingerings rather than trying at first to learn to "voice" the normal fingerings to play in tune.

Thank you for the information,but I do have a question.Do you know any websites where there are fingerings for the Eb that give alternate fingers?I have been meaning to find one because I use the classic thumb 2 3 1 Ab key and it comes out SUPER sharp.Maybe it's a skill issue,but I just need alternate keys.

I think you are asking about altissimo D right? Try it without the Ab key, it should lower pitch quite a bit but it will not be as stable. Also try overblowing an open "G", with or without the register key pressed.

Try as many of the alternates as possible, find the best one for intonation and tone. In addition to the list for regular boehm clarinet, I also suggest looking at the alternate list for bass clarinet. Curiously, a lot of those fingerings also work for my eb and they are not all listed under the regular clarinet fingering.
