 Barrel length

Is the barrel length the actual length of the bore only, or does it refer to the overall external length ?

That's interesting to think about. The bore length is the length of the barrel minus the length of the mouthpiece tenon and the upper joint tenon. That's actually pretty short, and yet that small amount of bore can have an outsized affect on the timbre and pitch of your final result (just witness all the third party barrels out there).

The barrel bore length is around 35mm less than the overall barrel length.
