I see the Mel Bay jazz instruction books pop up on eBay from time to time. Does anyone know if they are any good?

I saw a new Mel Bay jazz theory/workbook about two weeks ago. Can't remember the name of the book, but it's by a Mr or Ms Narnia (or something like that!!) It's probably too new to be coming up on eBay. It looked pretty good for high school players.
