 Eb clarinet tuning
Author: tangborn

After getting my buffet Eb overhauled it became much more out of tune. The upper register is significantly sharp. I can pull out very far to compensate, but then the throat tones become flat. I'm wondering 1. What might have caused this during the overhaul. Is it the pad heights? 2. What can I do to fix this?

They probably cleaned a bunch of gunk out of the tone holes, register tube, etc. that was artificially lowering the pitch. I would assume they did not do any permanent modifications without consulting you first.

Get tuning rings or a longer barrel. That way you can avoid the big gap that makes the throat tones flat.
