 Blow Out

I played Bb Bass clarinet all 5 years of college. How ever, there were a few songs that I just couldn't form my embouchure to play during those years. Other songs, fine but which songs, it just wasn't there. wasn't sick and I faked so I wouldn't get cussed out in public b the conductor. There was nothing wrong with my breathing either.

I community band, the same thing happened only on Eb Clarinet with 1 particular song "Ski Run." Any other song, fine.

Has this or does this happen 2 any of u?

This reminds me of s story told by John Paynter of Northwestern University. Back when Mikey Henoch was a student there (before his tenure in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra) there was this one particular oboe lick in this rousing piece of music that would always trip him up in every rehearsal. Finally the performance rolls around Mr. Henoch nails the solo and literally jumps up out of his chair and screams "YEAH!!!!!" Everyone in the audience assumed that was just part of the piece!

I guess it's always really gratifying when you can push past a thing like that.
