I was given a box FULL of clarinet music. It includes everything from solo clarinet with orchestra to solo clarinet with piano to duets and trios...single pieces and books of compilations. Mozart, Weber, Handel...you name it...it's in there.
I can't even begin to play 90% of what's in the box and don't have enough years left in THIS lifetime to learn it.
SO...I want to give it away. BUT...who do I give it to? Do I give it to the clarinet professor at our local university so she can use it with her students? Do I give it to a private clarinet instructor to use with students? Do I try to sell the entire box to someone? I'm NOT going to the effort to sell individual pieces.
I want to make sure the music is actually used and not just left to sit in a corner somewhere.
 SUGGESTIONS?????

Most people like to know exactly what they are getting before they agree to accept the items. You could provide a list of every entry in the set and sell it to the highest bidder (here or on an auction site). You could set a minimum acceptable price and let the market take it from there. That way both you and they are most likely to be satisfied.

I know you don't want to sell individual pieces, but are you prepared to sell, say, a set of 5 or 10 pieces...??? there are one or two that I'm looking out for....

Yes, I would consider selling just a few pieces. What are you looking for? I'll check to see if I have them.

Do you have Henri Sarlit, 25 Etudes de Virtuosite, 2nd volume? Or Germaine Tailleferre's Arabesque?

 Hi,

That sounds like a lovely problem to have. :-)

Maybe the ICA would be interested?

If you have any music that has exam grades on it (like grade 1 - 8 as in the ABRSM syllabus) I would be interested. The new ABRSM video exams allow us to play something of our own choice that is of an appropriate level, and the only way I can choose something is if it's in another book that has the grade marked on it.

I have the books for the 21018 - 2021 syllabus, but anything before that would be very useful.

 Thanks!

 Jennifer

I just donated lots of clarinet music, etudes, and clarinet related materials to the International Clarinet Association library, housed at the University of Maryland.

I scanned the title page of each item (you could photograph instead) and then emailed the file - a pdf in my case - to:

John Davis, Curator, Special Collections in Performing Arts
 Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library
 8270 Alumni Dr.
 University of Maryland
 College Park, MD. 20742 USA
 301.405.9220 | jrdavis@umd.edu

The library then id'ed what they already had, (to avoid duplicates), and let me
know what they wanted. I then sent the stuff Library Rate - even cheaper than Media Mail or other USPS rates.

The rest I gave away here for the price of USPS Media Mail postage: see:

Unfortunately. the two pieces you're looking for aren't in the box.

 Hi there,
 I'm looking for
Spohr 2nd Concerto (my copy has gone missing)
Debussy Arabesques arranged for clarinet/piano (lent to annoying Violist who moved houses, can't find them, then changed story to "I never had them")
Fuchs Quintet for clarinet and strings
The Leon Russianoff clarinet books 1 and 2
A few other things, but these are the main things I'm after...
Thanks for taking the time to look!
 dn
