Hi Peter,
Thanks for replying to my post- that is great info on the music.
The version I got is the same (mostly) as the one in the link (except it is for the A, not basset horn).
My understanding is that in the times it was composed, the performer would determine articulations (and dynamics).
Later, print houses (like Peters) would write articulations they though would be in style and manner consistent with the composer's.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I do recall hearing from someone that a few composers wrote basic melody and accompaniment and had other people to arrange for an orchestra (supposedly, Prokofiev wrote everything like that and had someone else to write transposed parts for the winds).
