Folks,
I was going through a relatives estate and found an old Clarinet that has Evette &
Schaefer stamped on the body. It's in a red velvet squarish brown case. I did manage to find some other numbers on the body that says K3209. The case is in poor condition but the Clarinet seems to be in good working order What can you tell me about it?

The E13 is still in production and that's the current equivalent model to the Evette&Schaeffer. The E&S became the E13 in the mid '80s which was the entry level wooden clarinet actually made by Buffet (the B10 up to the E12 were made for Buffet by Schreiber).
They're a good intermediate model clarinet and many players upgrade from their plastic B12/Prodige to the E13, then to any of the pro or prestige level Buffets after that if they feel the need to, although there are many players who've stuck with the E13 instead of upgrading to an RC/R13 or any of the Prestige models as they find the E13 perfectly suitable for their playing needs.

K3209 would put it either 1950 or 1951.
