Does anyone know of a source to obtain the clarinet part for the Welsh composer Alun Hoddinott's clarinet concerto?
I was checking through my library for A clarinet pieces and have the piano score for this piece published by Oxford University Press in 1964. However, apparently the piano score did not include a separate clarinet part.
OUP has the parts and conductor score for hire, but I cannot spot a solo clarinet part anywhere.
The piece is quiet short, so it might be practical to hand-copy it.

The First concerto, for A clarinet and strings? I have it somewhere and will be able to make a pdf about 24 hours from now if you like.
This concerto always confused me, I enjoy the clarinet part but find the orchestra accompaniment to be in a different harmonic language from the part (which suggests harmonies despite being a solo line). My 10c

Donald, a pdf would be much appreciated. I've emailed you my address, as I hide my own!
From the penciled in decimal price conversion on the cover, I must have bought this about ~1972 and never played it. !2s 6d or 63p!
@clarinetist04, thanks for the jwpepper link. I wasn't 100% convinced that their item was any different form the piano score only that I currently have, so I've emailed them.
Thanks for the responses

Ah, ok - probably no difference. I didn't realize you had the piece already - maybe just lost the clarinet part? Looks like Donald has you squared away. If, for some reason, that doesn't work out, let me know.

If you contact OUP they may be able to give you an authorised copy. I can also scan it for you.

Thanks all for the ideas.
I've emailed OUP, as I would prefer to buy a legit copy if possible (I also worked for OUP for a couple of years but please don't ask how long ago!)
I also scanned my piano score and tried partifi. For a piano score, I'm not sure there is a huge advantage - 22 pages down to 9.

Sorry if I'm a bit slow... we have a 4 month baby at the mo so it's hard to get things done even with the best intentions... I'll be able to scan it tomorrow I'm pretty sure (just got a bit stretched for time today - the actual scanning won't take time, it's just that I've got to get it out of an air-tight box in the garage, and our garage is a (frequently annoying) 5min walk away...

OUP confirm that they only have the full score and orchestra parts for hire.

Hi there, looks like you might need to take up Peter's offer as I can't find it. Very sorry about that - I had the music out just before Covid hit in 2020 because I read the concerto through with a pianist (I hadn't played it since 1991 or 92, and ran through it to refresh my memory). It hasn't been refiled in the music storage and no longer is in the "current music" spot here in the flat. A bit of a mystery.
If you do get to play it with strings I would love to hear it btw
Sorry to let you down with the part.
