I just recieved the retail pricing guide for Boosey and Hawkes group. And it says that every (even the plastic models ) of buffet clarinets have Poly-cylindrical bores. I thought only the top models had this, is this a new feature that started this year?
(i have a one year old E11, and it doesn't have this) thanks------Corey

Corey, don't mean to ignore your question--I see it's been up for a few days. Other than what the website says, I can't answer the question. Try sending them an email and see what happens.

Corey, your understanding is correct. THe Buffet E-11 does not feature a poly-cyllindrical bore. It does have some very nice features like undercut tone holes, adjustable thumbrest & the keywork for which Buffet is famous.
In any event, we KNOW that statement to be inaccurate because the design of the RC, Prestige & RC Prestige all feature a "Conical lower joint and bell".
I don't know about the Elite or the B-10/12 models. The website offers no specific data. The R-13, R-13 Greenline & Festival models all _do_ feature the poly-cylindrical bore design.
[[ Actually, there are many great instruments that do not feature the "poly bore", so I wouldn't let this bother you. However, inaccurate spec's ARE a BOTHER, ain't they! ]]

I guess the important thing is, do you like your clarinet? If you're happy with it don't worry about anything else.
