I am not the seller of these instruments. This looks like a heck of a deal if you need a professional Bb and A clarinet which is often the case when going into college etc.

This will no doubt be bid up even higher due to the excellent description, newness, apparent condition and picture so it probably won't be as good a deal as it looks like right now. With auctions you don't know the final selling price until it closes.

I agree that the bid will go higher. He had a buy it now at $2500.00 before this opening bid. I thought it was an outstanding deal at $2500.00.

Sometimes the buy it now price is the way to go for the very reason mentioned by Dee. In rare instances the bidding can go above the original buy it now price on really good merchandise.

I'm not so sure that the buy it now price was all that great a deal. It was right at the max of what I might consider paying for used clarinets. Now I know that not everyone thinks the same way, but my normal personal guideline would be 1/2 of what places like IMS or WW&BW charge for new ones. If it were in exceptional condition (and these seem to be), I would consider 2/3 of that new price. The buy it now price was pretty much right at that limit. However, I'm not in the market for any R-13s.

Correct, allowing for 2 birds being done with 1 stone's throw. $2500 is very close to the top side. mw
