 Old B&H Imperial
Author: Jim H

Old B&H, I think Imperial, SN "37xxx A" and "Imperial" only on joint. Probably made mid-1940s. Bell has stamped "R.M.B." and next line "L.P. 172", but not Imperial name. I assume the L.P. is Low Pitch, but what is 172 and R.M.B.? Thanks.

A guess, but a good chance that “RMB” stands for Royal Marines Band. B&H imperial instruments were often supplied to British military bands.

'RMB' is Royal Marines Band - I've got an old B&H wooden flute with that stamped on the back as well as the broad arrow stamp denoting it was MoD property.
