Hi.
My Leblanc L300 plays well exept the 5-6 notes above Bb. From B and up it gives very poor sound or no sound at all.
The clarinet is newly overhauled at a pro tech and all pads are sealing perfect. I bought it from England and it is not re-bored. I have tried different MP`s and reeds with no improvement.
I have no problems playing other clarinets.
Any suggestion what can I do to solve this problem?

Must be something wrong after overhaul. Which Bb you are talking about?

The higest note with closed register key. The problems are the lowest notes whith open register key.

There is a problem with the repair. It could be as simple as the forked Bb/Eb fingering not being adjust correctly or a open hole ring height being too high or low.
To check the forked fingering, rotate the upper and lower joints until the 3 ring key doesn't close the ring key on the upper joint completely (do not have any other fingers pressing keys when you check this out). Then try playing the clarinet.
Check the ring keys visually. When the key is closed, the rings should not sit lower than the top of the raised tone holes or too far above. Don't forget the ring for the thumb.

I, of course, agree with Steve, but you can do better than the stock Leblanc barrel: Fobes for example. His barrels for a Buffet R13 work very well on a Leblanc L200 and L300.

Problems with notes just above the break are always due to leakage, probably in the upper joint.
Please use the Smileys/Notes link to avoid note confusion, like .

Seems like I have to go the repair man for the third time, or better, a new one for a second opinion.
