Wes Rice, of Rice Clarinet Works, just sent me 2 of his clarinet mouthpiece blanks. One is an H Chedeville copy, and the other is a Chicago Kaspar copy. Both of these turned out beautifully, but I think I like the Chicago slightly better. I have them faced at 17mm length, ~1mm opening. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Hey Chris,
Very fascinating! I haven't had any experience of these blanks, but I do play on the 10K pieces on both Bb & bass he co-designed with Clark Fobes and also CNC machines for him, and absolutely love them. Wes also makes the blank for Dave McClune's FMK Bb mpc and Dave appears to be very happy with them. I'd be very excited to see more North American mpc makers trying his blanks out and repot their findings!
