This post was intended as 1) HUMOR (for the written word) & 2) as we have some older members here --- they can probably chat a bit about the price of a reed in 1950, etc. I know what a box of Vandoren traditionals cost in 1964. Best, mw

Lets see, I was paying 25 cents for reeds in the early 60s at Jr High School. The good ol' Rico plain type. Those and 2 dozen assorted metal clarinets, whatta sound.

hmmm .... a box of 20 Rico's was about $2.00 in 1962 or 1963 @ Gracin Music in NY ... still my Dad doled them out slowly. (we got 2 at a time) I started playing in 1961 & didn't learn of Oliveri or Vandoren until 1964 when starting 7th Grade.
