I'll offer different advice than Chris P here. I recommend Ferree Tools' B32 tan leather pads. I've been using them almost exclusively in all the alto and bass clarinets (and many soprano clarinets) I've overhauled over the past 20+ years.
For installation I use clear silicone glue (a.k.a. caulk or sealant).
