They're probably around 3mm thick, so you can make them as thick or as thin as you need once you've done all the prep work to make them completely flat and smooth as you can't use cork pads straight away. Install them using shellac and make sure all the toneholes are put in perfect order to deal with any defects which will cause leaks.
