Hey All,
I just uploaded my review of Gleichweit's new line of hard rubber clarinet barrels. I first stumbled upon these (and their mouthpieces) on Instagram and was intrigued (I guess advertising does work lol!) With any new product you never know what you are going to get, but I was definitely impressed by these. Has anyone else had a chance to try these out? What did you think?

Thanks Eric. IMHO and from what I could hear, none of fancy Gleichweit's 'Fässer' can hold a candle to the sound which you generated using your Tosca stock 'barile'.

This is a very subtle thing, but I believe the stock Tosca barrel focuses the sound better because it somehow directs your tongue and palate to voice or "place" the tone more consistently to match the general tendency of the Tosca clarinet. So, if the Tosca clarinet wants to voice an "eee" sound the Tosca barrel encourages that; but the Gleichweits may offer some opposition and try to reshape the sound to more of an "ooo" or "aaa" shape that would be more idiomatic to a Viennese clarinet or to someone trying to get a Viennese sound out of a French clarinet.
